Find final price after any discount percentage
To find the sale price: Sale Price = Original ร (1 โ Discount%/100). Example: 30% off $80 = $80 ร 0.70 = $56. To find original from sale price: Original = Sale Price รท (1 โ Discount%/100). If $63 after 10% off: $63 รท 0.90 = $70.
| Original | 10% off | 20% off | 25% off | 30% off | 50% off |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50 | $45 | $40 | $37.50 | $35 | $25 |
| $100 | $90 | $80 | $75 | $70 | $50 |
| $200 | $180 | $160 | $150 | $140 | $100 |
| $500 | $450 | $400 | $375 | $350 | $250 |
Two discounts are NOT additive. 20% then 10% = 28% total, not 30%. Formula: Combined = 1โ(1โd1)(1โd2). Related: Percentage Calculator ยท Profit Margin Guide
Multiply price by 0.80. $150 ร 0.80 = $120. Or: $150 ร 0.20 = $30 discount โ $150 โ $30 = $120.
Divide sale price by (1 โ discount/100). $70 after 30% off: $70 รท 0.70 = $100 original.
30% off means you pay 70% of the original price. You save 30 cents for every $1 of the original price.
